4-strokes require lots of tinkering.

Eric Meyers has flown many different Saitos over the years, from the little .30 in his Lanier Extra 325 to a honking 1.50 in a 98" Telemaster. "Hey, I'm no engine guru. I kinda believe in the KISS principle and 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.' So while I've heard some modelers say 'you gotta' adjust the valves'... well, I'm here to tell you it's not true. While the manual does tell you to check the valves after 1 to 2 hours of run time, frankly I've never adjusted any of my Saito's valves - ever. I just give 'em a decent break-in, never run 'em lean, and run good fuel (Morgan Fuels Cool Power 30% heli) in all my Saitos. Like my black Lab, they're obedient, faithful, they run great and they're simple to operate. Life's too complicated- modeling shouldn't be. I like simple."
