For the last 5 years Great Planes Models has hosted an extremely popular indoor electric RC aircraft event that brings people from all over the US, Canada and Mexico. E-fest 2010 was probably the best one yet. Over 325 people brought their latest airplane ideas to have fun flying them in the University of Illinois Armory and fun it was. Airplanes were flying everywhere, all the time, even after the lights were out! Ultra micro models were more like bees buzzing around on the field, off the field, it just seems like those pilots could not quit for a minute. Helicopters were assigned a safe area with a surrounding safety net, airplanes had their own area and micros were in another area (at least most of the time). It was all about people and their models so we were able to interview a few and get a feel for what they were doing. If you want to join these guys you better make plans for next year!
